That picture of biscotti on the right made me really really want to bake something, and as I'm pretending that it's spring despite the howling gale outside, which is trying to blow my gone-to-seed lettuce off my window sill, I thought I'd make some springy cakes.
The recipe said to use a piping bag for the icing - but who really has a piping bag?! I tried to make one out of a piece of calico I had left over, but it didn't really work.
I will never be a cake decorator, I feel, but I think they look quite pretty all the same. Not sure how to go about eating them though - and I ate far too much icing to be trying one any time soon.
(Also there is now pink and blue icing dotted on virtually everything in the kitchen)
